Oscars 2013 Best Dressed

*clap clap clap* let me start off by saying this was one of my favorite oscars red carpets! i love going from the grammys which is a little more edgy dress and then next award show is the grammys with big ball gowns and super elegant. i'm definitely a more edgy dress girl but i still love seeing all the beautiful gowns that i will most likely never get to wear (well maybe besides my wedding day) the carpet this wear was mostly neutral colors with random pops of colors (neon pink, neon yellow & cobalt) i'm not even sure if i could say i had a favorite this carpet because i was truly blown away. its seriously a shame that i have so many favorites and such little space to show off the dresses, most of the dresses have trains but were cropped for the purpose of space. 

if i had to pick a favorite it might just be jennifer lawrence purely because i idolize her, shes hilarious and the way she played off falling up the stairs was just great. she wore a christian dior couture dress. as much as i dont like amanda seyfried she really did look amazing in her alexander mcqueen dress, her hair went amazingly well with this dress. amy adams wore a oscar de la renta dress which made her look like a fairy. and i absolutely loved the color of her dress, its not really white not really gray... i don't know how to describe it besides truly beautiful. i was stunned by samantha barks in her valentino dress, i really didnt know who she was but she had her wow moment for sure. her dress reminded me of rihanna's grammy 2012 dress (which also landed on my best dressed list). not sure if its a good or bad thing that it reminded me of her dress. naiomi watts wore a stunning armani privé dress, the top of the dress was amazing with the organic/geometric design. its really hard to wear that cut without it pinching you in the wrong spots, so props to you girl! finally my girl reese witherspoon she always looks amazing in whatever she wears. her dress was by louis vuitton, her dress was one of the very few with a big pop of color in it. and it was refreshing on the carpet, also to mention how amazing her old school hollywood glam was! i swear that all giuliana rancic could talk about!

i didnt end up watching the awards because i had to much homework but of course i took a break for the red carpet... i had a ton of other favorites but i think these were my best of the best! do you think someone else should be up on this list besides one of the beautiful ladies already up there? 

Ulta Haul

i had set out to try out some new things from the drugstore lately. I picked up almost everything new from the drugstore which with most of it i'm really pleased with. i have tried the loreal true match crayon concealer before but i needed a brighter color so i could mix the two and get a perfect match. so far its my new favorite concealer. i have yet to try the rocket mascara but i have only heard great things about it. i was really excited about the maybelline color whispers, i got the colors pin up peach and coral ambition. i have tried out both colors and the only color that doesnt really seem to show up on my lips is coral ambition which is a real bummer because thats the color i was most looking forward too. i'm going to keep it though and try concealing my lips before adding the color because my lips are a little to pigmented for it. i also picked up a real techniques setting brush for under my eyes because i have been eying this for awhile not and figured eh why not. finally i have only heard amazing things about the revlon nearly naked collection and needed a new setting powder so i figured i would try it out, so far i love it.

Victoria Secret Haul

Over the weekend i was able to go home for a much needed alone time. the main reason why i went home was to get a hair cut, which i might add kinda looks good! but while home my mom said we could go shopping which i was excited for because needed some new lounging clothes. i only had a few hours at tysons, the main reason was to get some bean boots for the snow... which seems like its never going to snow. after getting those i did a little walk through urban outfitters window shopping (i left my gift cards at school) so window shopping had to do. after than i went over to victoria secret for some lounging clothes. i walked in really looking to get some underwear, not really in the picture because i don't feel the need to share that with you guys. i picked out my underwear turned around and saw the most adorable cropped yoga pants and i thought i had to have them because since i'm starting to work out more cropped yogas is a must. then i turned around and saw the most amazing sweatshirt... that let me add not cheap but totally worth it. as you can tell i'm in this huge fan of skulls and studs and this sweatshirt is a combination of both! after that i picked up a few wife beaters for undershirts. pink has some amazing things out right now i'm pretty sure i'm going back soon to pick up some more stuff.

February Birchbox - Red Carpet Ready

This months birchbox theme is red carpet ready. I thought the theme was a really cute idea seeing that it is award season. when i thought of this theme i thought that receiving a full face would be a really cute idea (primer, mascara, a lip product) something along those lines... and i received something along those lines. first off i watched the sneak peak video and i was somewhat underwhelmed... they talked about how lancome just became affiliated with birchbox, i was really hoping for the mascara! i received an email saying that because of the snow storm nemo my box has been snowed in so it would be a little late, totally understandable! when my box got here i was excited because i knew it was going to be my last box... yup, i said it... my last box. i'll go into detail about that later. but this box included:

• color club nail polish in wild cactus
• lancome le base pro makeup primer
• miss jessie's original pillow soft
• vasanti brighten up! enzymatic face rejuvenator
• ghirardelli caramel square

i was excited to see the nail polish, probably the thing i was most excited for. its a emerald polish to go with the color of the year! if you didn't know... emerald has been named the color of the year, so very on trend this nail polish was. i was really hoping to try the lancome mascara they showed in the sneak peak video but a primer is okay too... i use the benifit porefessional primer and i probably wont stray away from that for awhile, maybe i'll let my mom try it. i have received another miss jessie's original hair product before and have yet to try it. this being said the other one wasn't in a foil packet and was in an actual bottle. i'm assuming you shouldn't use that whole pillow soft sample at once so why put it in a foil packet i cant close... bad packaging on that one. i haven't heard of the vasanti brighten up! enzymatic face rejuvenator before but i love face scrubs so i will be sure to try this out with my clarisonic. and finally the little chocolate treat... seemed pointless but i already ate it so... i obviously liked it. 

overall i have liked birchbox... i may eventually go back to them but for now i unsubscribed. the main reason was because i wasn't receiving products i enjoyed. i wanted more makeup beauty projects along those lines and i just didn't seem to be getting them. that being said i unsubscribed for birchbox and subscribed to ipsy. i figured why not give it a chance i have been seeing what has been in the bags and they seem to really be products i like! i'm currently on the waiting list so once i get off i'll be sure to be reviewing the bags just like i did with birchbox. so long birchbox.

Drugstore to buy list

after watching haul video after haul video on youtube i decided i need to go on a drugstore beauty splurge! you might notice that this wish list is very lip heavy. i don't normally buy many (if any...) lip products because i'm not a very big lipstick wearing girl. i usually go for the standard chapstick, if you're lucky maybe even a tinted babylips. so i decided why not stock up for the spring/summer on lip products!

The Grammys 2013 Best Dressed

the grammy's were last night and let me say... the fashion was outstanding! i was worried because of the apparent CBS ban e-mail that went out to the artists stylist, but let me say they did not disappoint. when trying to pick out my top 6 best dressed it was extremely hard to pick them out, i would pick out 6 women but then i noticed i forgot someone else but i think i finally got it.

for me i think rihanna took the night, she did about 3 wardrobe changes and they all were stunning. but her custom red azzedine alaia dress took the cake. she is for sure my best dressed for the night! carrie underwood looked stunning as well, i don't think she lived up to last year but of course she can never do wrong and she looked fabulous! roberto cavalli does wonders on her body. i feel like everytime i do a best dressed list i feel like kelly osbourne is on my list. once again she made my list wearing paule ka. i love her purple hair and her body is looking amazing. i dont think kelly rowland received the CBS ban memo because BAM there she is in a georges chakra couture with sheer cut outs. she was there to show up beyonce for sure, and she did exactly that. as much as it pains me to say it taylor swift landed on my best dressed wearing j mendel. i dont know what it is but i just havent been a huge fan of her lately. but besides that the dress is beautiful. again, pains me to say this but carly rae jepsen also landed on my best dressed wearing once again a roberto cavalli dress. 

i had to make an honorable mention list because i couldn't leave out the guys because let me tell you, some of the guys were looking so nice! and then there were some of the ladies that didn't make the best dressed but definitely deserved a mention. first off can i just say how amazing justin timberlakes performance was! seriously JT is back and i'm loving it! he also looked amazing, it was definitely the night of the bow ties. giuliana rancic also looked stunning, she usually is very va-va-voom but she took a more subtle approach which worked out really well. i don't think adam levine actually walked the carpet because i couldn't find any picture of him but i saw him do an interview with ryan secrest and my dreams have come true. adam levine in an all black suit... i can now die a happy woman! he's seriously beautiful. next is kaley cuoco who was so so so close to making the best dressed list, her look was very grammy's-esque which i loved because she isn't even a musical artist. i didn't see drake walk the carpet but when watching the grammy's i could see him in his chair and he seriously looked so good, another man who knows how to dress. finally beyonce, i did expect more but i do think i like it because its not something expected from her. it works really well from the grammy's look, but i still expected more. but as always she looks good in anything! 

i probably left a ton of people out because there was such good fashion at this grammy's and the show was actually amazing as well. the collabs were amazing, JT's performance was a show stopper and the tribute to bob marley had to be my favorite performance of the night. what did you think of the show & fashion?

Kendall & Kylie Utility Shirt #kandk4pacsun

you all know how excited i was for the kendall and kylie collection at pacsun, well i got to view it a few days before it launched because i got an email with the link allowing me to view the collection and buy items if i would like. needless to say i wasnt very impressed, i liked a lot of the items but i felt like they were somewhat overpriced and that i would most likely be able to find that clothing item at forever 21 and for about half the price. but once it launched on friday i headed over to my local pacsun to check out the collection in person.. i felt the same way. i tried on a few items not from the collection but decided to save my money and not buy anything... well friday night rolled around and i was looking at the collection more and i was wanting the items more and more. there was a bandeau i really liked, the utility shirt and a few other items. i decided since i had a gift card there for about $80 (which i have had for about 2 years now) i would splurge for pretty much the name. i told myself i would buy the utility shirt only if they had any free totes left because then i feel like i'm paying for the tote and a girl could never have enough totes. i went to pacsun right when i woke up tried on the utility shirt and figured why not! 

i'm a huge fan of studs and spikes which this shirt had so i was automatically drawn to it. the shirt is pretty lightweight, like a jean shirt. i have a jean shirt that i wear all the time so i figured this shirt would get some wear out of it just like my jean shirt. the shirt is pretty much like my winter jacket from urban but obviously the army green color is "in" so why not get one in a lighter fabric. i figured this could be a good piece to have for the winter/spring transition. i can see myself pairing this jacking with my leggings, a white shirt, and my combat boots for the winter and then shorts, a loose tank, and my vans for the spring time. pretty much i'm trying to justify buying a $55 shirt...

though i love the jenner sisters i don't think i will be buying anything else from their collection. i felt like a lot of it was overpriced and that i could find it cheaper at another store. the only reason i splurged is because i did have a gift card that i haven't used in forever. i usually just buy my jeans and shorts from pacsun... i never really look good in a lot of their clothes, i don't have that "california body type" that they target their clothes for. maybe if they come out with another collection for another season i'll have better luck, but until then i'll stick with my one shirt. 

The Tiffany's

my new babies arrived in the mail yesterday, which i have proudly named them the tiffany's, for obvious reasons. i have been waiting weeks for them to get here, i cant wait to use them tomorrow at the gym. speaking of the gym thought i would update you on my little health kick. it has been going horribly, seeing as i just ate a left over potato skin from super bowl sunday. i do find myself eating more fruit and drinking more water but i still find myself eating to much. i find myself continuously snacking. also i told myself i would start going to the gym in my apartment complex before my first class starts on monday/wednesday's at 1:30! you would think thats simple go to the gym at 11, get back around 12 and thats plenty of time to shower and get ready for class... yeah i thought that too. waking myself up and getting me motivated is torture. i'm hoping my new shoes will give me the push to work out more and really start eating right. i do work out on the weekends and i have really been enjoying blogilates on youtube. i have also been blogging more on my "fitblr" (fitness tumblr), as they call it, which has really been helping me. i think this weekend i'm going to make a inspiration board to put in my room. do any of you have any tips to keep motivated?

The Beyonce Bowl

i would like to start off by saying all hail queen b. last night, like almost every american in the world, i watched the super bowl. I haven't been this excited since freshman year and the steelers were in the super bowl (lets not talk about how the game ended...) none the less i was excited because the ravens were in the super bowl, they are the closet team to VA besides the washington redskins. seeing as the skins weren't in the super bowl i was obviously going to root on the ravens. to make the super bowl even better beyonce was the half time show! so once i found out that she was performing it was the beyonce bowl from then on. might i say she did not disappoint! i have always been a big fan of her, i don't go around saying how much i love her, but she has always been one of my favorite artists. she knows how to perform and put on a show, she always seems super sweet and genuine, and she has a kick ass voice. not to mention she is drop dead gorgeous. i have been watching the videos her team has been putting up on youtube counting down the says with sneak peaks and her super bowl pre-interview and in the interview i had a feeling someone else was going to perform with her, i mean obviously what act hasn't had someone perform with them. but when that stage gave birth to kelly and michelle my mind went insane! its like the 90s child inside of me was emerging and i didn't hate it one bit! through out the whole performance beyonce was strutting her stuff and killing it from head to toe! can we just talk about what she was wearing too, the all leather "dress" with a touch of lace. black leather and black lace is seriously my favorite! also i dont think it was a coincidence that there was a power surge a few minutes after her performance, in that moment in time they should have just brought her back out and make it a beyonce concert! its so hard to describe how amazing her performance was, if you missed the performance i'll link the video here. I was going to post a video from youtube but i couldnt find a great quality one. i just watched dailygraces new video which pretty much summed up how i felt.

Kendall & Kylie for Pacsun

one of my biggest guilty pleasures are the kardashian-jenner family. i watch almost every tv show they have, i one of the reasons i really like it right now is to watch mason and all the young ones... well scott cracks me up sometimes too. out of the whole family i have always been huge fans of kendall and kylie, they both seem so down to earth and not really into the whole fame thing as the family. i have always been a huge fan of their style as well, if you follow them on instagram they are always looking so cute. so when i heard they were coming out with a clothing line for pacsun i knew this is one line i cant miss. i have always been a pacsun shopper, they seem to be the only place that has jeans that look good on me. lucky for me i have a ton of pacsun gift cards from last christmas and some other special occasions so once i heard they had a line coming out i knew to save those gift cards until the line launches. throughout the past couple months kendall and kylie has been dropping hits on their instagram about their line

so far from the little pictures i can see on instagram i'm really excited for this line, i feel like these clothes are right up my ally! their spring line for 2013 releases online and in stores february 8th. seeing as i dont have friday classes i will be the first one in pacsun next friday! also thank god i go to school in the middle of nowhere so not everything will be sold out! they posted a video on pacsuns youtube channel talking about their line. are you excited for their line?
